Jacquette is a national investment expert and financial coach, and the founder of Sterling Investment Management, an investment education and financial coaching firm. She has worked in the investment industry for 21 years, dedicating more than a decade to teaching intelligent people ways to be smarter with their money. Jacquette is a Woodhull Fellow and holds a Masters in business administration in finance from the Graduate School of Business at Fordham University and a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her book "Women, Money and Romance: Discover What it Takes to Create Financial Intimacy with your Mate" is expected to be published in 2008.
Robin is the author of "The Gaslight Effect: How to Spot and Survive the Hidden Manipulation Others Use to Control your Life," published by Random House in 2007. Robin is a licensed psychoanalyst, psychotherapist in private practice and educator. Robin has developed and implemented programs to promote personal and professional growth through self-awareness, emotional competence and ethical leadership for the last 25 years. Robin holds a doctorate in applied psychology as well as a post-doctoral certificate in psychoanalytic group psychotherapy. She is an adjunct associate professor of Communications at Teachers College and Columbia University, as well as a supervisor in leadership development at Hunter College, and a Social-Emotional Learning Specialist at The School, located at Columbia University. Robin is a Diplomat of the American Psychotherapy Association. Robin serves on the Board of Directors of Educators for Social Responsibility and is the co-author of two books on emotional intelligence for educators, titled "Understanding Emotions in the Classroom" and "Emotionally Intelligent School Counseling." Robin is a founding board member of the Woodhull Institute.
Karla is an African-American feminist and therapist whose private practice serves women of color and sexual assault survivors. As an adjunct professor in the Women's Studies, Gender Studies and Africana Studies departments at Rutgers University, Karla addresses issues of cultural and ethnic identity, spirituality and empowerment. A college-level teacher for the past 23 years, Karla also has been involved in community and university education for the past 25 years, and has developed cultural literacy, communication, and anti-oppression trainings for her various courses. Karla is the vice president on the Woodhull Board of Directors.
Naomi is a co-founder of The Woodhull Institute for Ethical Leadership, an organization that has graduated over 1,400 women leaders committed to ethical change. The Woodhull leadership program trains graduates in ethics and professional development, teaching young leaders in America to make a positive difference in positions of influence in the media, business, politics and law. A graduate of Yale and a former Rhodes Scholar, Wolf has written essays for The New Republic, The Wall Street Journal, Glamour and The New York Times. Four of her books have been national or international bestsellers. She was a consultant to the Gore 2000 presidential campaign, Glamour magazine named her "Woman of the Year" and TIME magazine named her to the "50 Most Notable Young Leaders" list. Her forthcoming book, titled "The End of America: A Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot," will be published by Chelsea Green Publishing in September 2007.
Tara is an activist, writer, and performance poet. Her writing has appeared in many national publications, including American Theatre, BUST, Bitch, and Clamor, among others. Her feature article on the economics of national health care was named "Second Radical Pick of the Month" by the Alternative Press Center in October 2006. Tara is the founder of Poetic People Power, an ongoing project in New York City that combines poetry and activism. She has been profiled in Time Out New York and has received awards from the Puffin Foundation and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. A member of the inaugural Woodhull training program, Tara teaches ethical leadership and public speaking at selected Woodhull retreats.
Susan is the author of the forthcoming book, "QUIET: The Importance of Introversion in a World That Can't Stop Talking," scheduled to be published by the Crown Publishing Group in January 2009. President and owner of The Negotiation Company, Susan has been teaching negotiation techniques for many years. Her work is based on the belief that graceful negotiation depends on self-awareness; she is known for the humanistic approach she brings to her practice. Her clients include everyone from CEOs and Wall Street lawyers to married couples, college students and housing shelter residents. Susan has practiced corporate law for many years, representing clients such as Goldman Sachs and General Electric. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Woodhull, and is a cum laude graduate of both Harvard Law School and Princeton University.
Wende Jager-Hyman is the Executive Director of the Woodhull Institute for Ethical Leadership. Wende has an extensive background in both the worlds of education and business. She came to Woodhull after years of service as Executive Director of a major private independent school on Long Island, with an enrollment of over 700 students. Prior to serving in a not-for-profit educational Environment, Wende's entrepreneurial spirit led her to be the founder and owner of a personnel recruiting firm. Her experience extends into finance, budgeting, program development, fund development and marketing in both the public and private sectors. Her deep belief in fostering the ethical leadership of women has brought her to devote her energies to the future and growth of The Woodhull Institute.
