Before you indulge your sweet tooth with a late night bowl of ice cream, you may want to consider the nutritional facts. Ice cream is packed with calories and saturated fat. A single serving of ice cream contains as much as 800 calories and over 30 grams of saturated fat. As a result, you should avoid ice cream and satisfy your sweet tooth with one of many alternative sweet snacks.

Greek yogurt

Greek yogurt is a wonderful replacement for ice cream. It is cold, creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness to satisfy your cravings. A fruit smoothie can be the perfect way to cool down on a hot day and avoid the extra calories that come with a bowl of ice cream. Smoothies allow you to use your creativity to create a tasty treat. Along with being low in calories, a fruit smoothie contains a plethora of vitamins and antioxidants to keep you feeling healthy.

Whatever you do, avoid ice cream as a regular snack item. There are many healthy alternatives that taste great and contain fewer calories. Satisfy your sweet tooth and get creative.
