It’s difficult not to be hungry after a workout. You’ve just been in the gym, working hard and sweating away the calories. It is not all that unsurprising that your body wants to refuel. While there are a number of choices you can make for your post workout snack, there are some that stand out above the rest. The important thing is to choose a healthy snack without starving yourself. Denying yourself a post workout snack can leave you even hungrier at your next meal, which could lead to overeating.

A nice sized banana is packed with nutrients and carbs that your body needs post workout. It is a sweet treat that works as a great base for protein shakes or even just on its own as a quick snack to hold you over until your next meal.
